Our hard work has paid off and we have been awarded green school status. We will collect our flag in May. In late Spring time we plan to develop our garden areas.

As part of Junior Entrepreneur the children had to present their ideas to the Dragons. These included cool jewels, burnt wooden signs, lovely lollipops and O-oaties. The judges picked O-oaties as the best enterprise for everyone to work on together.

Peace Proms
On Saturday the 4th of February we performed in the “Peace Proms” in the RDS. We had great fun in the bus which, we shared with Jonathan Swift N.S. We enjoyed singing and performing our songs and routines.

The mobile library now parks outside our school every 2nd Wednesday from 2.10 pm. They provide a fabulous service for our pupils and the local community. All of the children were given time to choose a book. This was a new experience for some of the children and we are very grateful to be included in this free scheme.

Willemien Rust came to the school and talked to the children about all the stages of her business. It was very interesting. The children enjoyed it very much and learned a lot from it.

Congratulations to Ella from Senior Infants, who is a semi-finalist in the Doodle for Google competition. This is a huge achievement as there were so many entries to this nationwide competition.

On Sunday the 11th of December the children told the story of Christmas in Donoughmore church. They enjoyed preparing their parts, which included some poems, prayers, drama and a piece on tin whistle. They were wonderful and here is a photo of some of the Junior room children mid performance.
